Following a week of hot settled weather in which all participants arrived, most setting up camp at Matkopuszta Airfield and enjoying the benefits of the pool, we began our competition with the threat of thunderstorms.
In the solo trike class, the Hungarian Endre Thuroczy completed his 3rd International win, while Richard Rawes and Manuel Rey Corderio from Spain, couldn't be separated in third place.

Competition Director, Martin
Ordody has managed many previous International events including World
Microlight Championships 1990 in Dunakazi, European Championships 1991 in Baja
and also the First World Air Games 1997 held in Turkey. Apart from the unseasonable
weather conditions causing problems with the number of flying tasks
able to be completed, Martin also found that this area had a huge amount of
goose farms near to the airfield whose inhabitants protested at the close
proximity of flying machines.
